Opportunity Description
U+ Community — Unpaid volunteer opportunity
Enjoy finding patterns and making information easier to understand? Join U+ Community as a Data Analysis Volunteer and help the team understand registrations, attendance, volunteer hours and participant feedback. Your work will give program staff a clearer picture of participation and the information they need to plan next steps.
About U+ Community
U+ Community brings volunteers together to support community programs and events. Through U+ Volunteer Connect, volunteers contribute to practical projects in program support, administration, communications and technology.
What you will do
- Clean and organize program spreadsheets, checking for missing information, inconsistent formats and duplicate records.
- Summarize registrations, attendance, volunteer hours and feedback using the records assigned to you.
- Create clear tables, charts or simple dashboards, with notes explaining what the figures show and any data limitations.
- Check totals and calculations, flag questions for your supervisor, and revise your work after feedback.
- Keep a brief record of your methods and file locations so the team can update your work. Protect participant and volunteer information.
What you bring
You enjoy careful, organized work and can use basic spreadsheet features. Curiosity, clear communication and a willingness to check your calculations are valuable. Experience with Excel, Google Sheets or data visualization is helpful; the tasks should be matched to your current skills.
What you will gain
Practise data cleaning, spreadsheet analysis and explaining findings to people who use them. Contribute a useful report or dashboard that helps a community team understand its programs.
Support and responsibility
Work from an agreed project brief and use supervisor feedback to refine your analysis. Ask for clarification when a record, calculation or interpretation is uncertain.
