Join Our Dynamic Board!Are you passionate about making a difference in the developmental services sector? Community Living Dufferin is a non-profit organization, dedicated to supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities. We’re actively seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic community member to expand our volunteer Board of Directors. We’re seeking individuals with expertise in fundraising, marketing, social services, education, and other relevant areas to help advance our mission. Our FocusIn the upcoming year, our board will focus on implementing our Strategic Plan. We are looking for a board member who can contribute their unique perspectives and skills to help guide our organization in this critical phase. We value diversity in age, strengths, ideas, and backgrounds. A diverse board helps us better understand and meet the needs of the people we support, ensuring the visibility and viability of our services.ResponsibilitiesPrepare for and actively participate in board and committee meetings regularly.Assist with strategic planning and policy development.Participate in fundraising and community outreach activities.CommitmentApproximately 2-3 hours per month for board meetings in the evening, additional time for committee work and special projects.New Directors are elected for a three-year term.Meeting ScheduleMonthly Meetings: Second Tuesday of each month (except for July and August).In-Person & Virtual Meetings: September, October, April, May, and June.Virtual Meetings Only: November through March Members may attend virtually for all meetings.Why Join Us?Make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities, collaborate with a passionate and committed team, gain valuable experience in non-profit governance and strategic planning, contribute your expertise to a cause you care about.If you are ready to make a difference and bring your unique skills to our board, we would love to hear from you!Help us continue to create a supportive and inclusive community for everyone.

You will be working in a program for adults with acquired communication disabilities with guidance from communicative disorders assistants and speech-language pathologists. Learn strategies to support our clients practice their communication and lead fun activities in our weekly groups. This is a great opportunity to gain some experience with professional staff, make a difference in your community and meet new people.
